We all love to travel, to new places, new cities in cars, buses, caravans, by air, by the sea but I have travelled everyday since I was ten through books. I have let the ocean kiss my feet on the Coast of Ipanema and nosed around in Calgary and my travel expenses have never been more than the price of a McDonald Cheese Burger. Here's my travelogue where books can be found through the countries they have taken me to. The reviews are not professional and definitely not worth putting into a book review assignment for school! They are just a string of words that tell you what I felt when I travelled to a certain place. If it suits you, you go and book yourself a trip. If not, well...we'll keep it there!

With Angels in Barcelona

The Angel's GameThe Angel's Game by Carlos Ruiz Zafón

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Clever, original, sinister, gripping and likely to keep you awake all night-that's how I will describe The Angel's Game . I'm pretty glad I didn't finish it right after The Shadow of the Wind because I am not sure I would have enjoyed it as much as I did now.

Carlos Ruiz Zafón is perhaps the only author of our age who can turn thrillers into literary masterpieces and that's exactly what The Angel's Game is. Though nowhere near The Shadow of the Wind , this book keeps the beauty and the magic of The Cemetery of Forgotten Books intact and made me fall in love with Isabella and David, making them two of my most favourite characters of all times despite all their faults.

  1. I did it backwards and read Angel's Game a few years ago, and have been hoarding The Shadow of the Wind because I know I'll only get to read it once for the first time. :)

  2. Well, I was introduced to 'The Shadow of the Wind' by a friend and so, naturally, both of us read that first. I have done the hoarding bit, too with Harry Potter books, especially the Comic Relief ones. I like to believe that just like the books choose the reader, they also choose the time when they should be read! :)
