We all love to travel, to new places, new cities in cars, buses, caravans, by air, by the sea but I have travelled everyday since I was ten through books. I have let the ocean kiss my feet on the Coast of Ipanema and nosed around in Calgary and my travel expenses have never been more than the price of a McDonald Cheese Burger. Here's my travelogue where books can be found through the countries they have taken me to. The reviews are not professional and definitely not worth putting into a book review assignment for school! They are just a string of words that tell you what I felt when I travelled to a certain place. If it suits you, you go and book yourself a trip. If not, well...we'll keep it there!

Tuck EverlastingTuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbitt
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I actually wanted to give it a three and a half, so in round figures, it's a four on five. 'Tuck Everlasting' is a cute kiddie book, with deeper lessons on life. The novel deals with the theme that death is inevitable and what is here now, must become past in order to allow changes in the world, both physically and socially.
The story is poetic, cute and innocent and entirely different from the movie adaptation which I found much better in many respects. For one Winifred is older and much more sensible whereas the book portrays her like a ten year old. So, it's easy to understand why she makes the choice of dying in the movie than in the book. Also, the movie is deeper and drives home Babbit's message more clearly than the book managed to!
Nevertheless, 'Tuck Everlasting' is a great classic, which Stephanie Meyer must have read and hated and then decided to add her own, sinister touch to it to create a disaster like the 'Twilight Series'!
