We all love to travel, to new places, new cities in cars, buses, caravans, by air, by the sea but I have travelled everyday since I was ten through books. I have let the ocean kiss my feet on the Coast of Ipanema and nosed around in Calgary and my travel expenses have never been more than the price of a McDonald Cheese Burger. Here's my travelogue where books can be found through the countries they have taken me to. The reviews are not professional and definitely not worth putting into a book review assignment for school! They are just a string of words that tell you what I felt when I travelled to a certain place. If it suits you, you go and book yourself a trip. If not, well...we'll keep it there!

Spirit BridesSpirit Brides by Kahlil Gibran
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Beautiful, poignant and heart wrenching, Spirit Brides compels you to think about the power of love, the misery of being poor and hapless in a world full of people with money and power.
Although the stories in this anthology are very very common, to almost every culture, but what makes it different, and beautiful is how they havebeen written.
A must read really and all you need is half an hour!

The MadmanThe Madman by Khalil Gibran
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A thing about Khalil Gibran: You can never read anything by him ever again that will hold the same place in your heart as The Prophet.

A thing about his poetry:You will love it anyway, more than works by any other poet.

Gibran was not just a poet but a storyteller, a philosopher and a doctor of the soul all wrapped in one. That's how his books are. They are like soup for an ailing soul, they enrich you and enchant you as you flip through their pages, and the only thing you can ever compare them to is another book by Khalil Gibran himself.

So, even if I say I give it a 4/5 rating, please bear in mind that it is only with respect to The Prophet and The Garden of the Prophet, that this book is a 4/5. If I have to compare it to anything else that I've ever read, it is far far superior and way more deep.

If you're big in Oriental Poetry, or poetry in general, i'd say, The Madman is a not-to-be-missed read!

The Garden Of The ProphetThe Garden Of The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The day I finished with The Prophet I thought I'd never read anything quite like it and that saddened me greatly. How wrong I had been!

The Garden of The Prophet is every bit as amazing and soothing for the soul as The Prophet was and there were parts that seemed to be written especially for me.

Continuing from where The Prophet ended, this book begins with
Almustafa returning to his homeland. The words and the thoughts that follow talk about distances, departures, farewells and homecomings. They talk about the transience of beauty and the about despair in abundance-things that make you see life with a different point of view.

I would agree with you if you tell me that in poetic merit it doesn't rival nor stands equal to The Prophet but, if, for a moment, these books are treated as separate works, which they are, it is both unfair and wrong to even venture a comparison.

Without doubt, The Best Read of 2014 . Highly recommended!

The ProphetThe Prophet by Kahlil Gibran
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The BEST book I've ever read! I am not sure how many books will get that title but I haven't read anything this beautiful ever before. In the words of a friend, "You just can't keep it down!"

Read it on the darkest day of your life and it will become the happiest! Read it when you're emotionally low and this will lift the corners of your mouth into a smile. It's deep, it's intellectual, and I can bet you've never read anything this poetic ever before! I realise there are too many signs of exclamation in this review, but trust me, this book is TRULY magical!
