We all love to travel, to new places, new cities in cars, buses, caravans, by air, by the sea but I have travelled everyday since I was ten through books. I have let the ocean kiss my feet on the Coast of Ipanema and nosed around in Calgary and my travel expenses have never been more than the price of a McDonald Cheese Burger. Here's my travelogue where books can be found through the countries they have taken me to. The reviews are not professional and definitely not worth putting into a book review assignment for school! They are just a string of words that tell you what I felt when I travelled to a certain place. If it suits you, you go and book yourself a trip. If not, well...we'll keep it there!

Mister PipMister Pip by Lloyd Jones
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Do you like bittersweet chocolates? The ones which are neither too bitter nor too sweet, with a hint of rum in it, perhaps? If you do, you'd love this book as much as I did.

It's beautifully poetic, deeply moving and just like the hint of rum, it has Dickens on top of it! A story about a little girl in a small, remote Island where the teacher is the only white man and 'Great Expectations' is the only book to read. It is a book about the relationship between two differing sets of mentality, a book about deceptive appearances and deep dark secrets. Just like Dickens wasn't perfect, the characters of 'Mister Pip' aren't either, no matter how admirable or powerful they seem!

It's a painfully heart-breaking book but in my Mental Shelf, it is the one of best books I have read!
